for this event, i turned again to revlon colorstay foundation which is becoming my go-to foundation for challenging undertakings.  to make my foundation last longer, i first applied makeup forever all mat which i find delivers better than smashbox primer.

our eye makeup was done using the smashbox eye wish palette.  it was very easy to do following the instructions from the lookbook.  the lid primer which came with the palette also made the eye makeup last longer.

for our cheek blush to stay on for hours, i applied first a cream blush (becca cream blush) and then topped it with a powder blush (scott barnes blush).  i've read about this makeup trick in several magazines and it really does work.

isn't she pretty?  i was drawn to the colors of the eyeshadows.  i could create several eye-looks with this palette using the instructions from the look book. that's the purpose for the numbers below the e/s.  the bottom row are colored gel liners (but i still find mac's fluidline better).  i'm skeptical though with the photofinish lid primer.  i have used smashbox's photo finish foundation primer light on my lids but my shadows and eyeliners still bleed.

imagine to my elation when i saw M.A.C.'s free standing store at powerplant mall, rockwell.  it is even beside beauty bar, my must-go-to store for all my beauty needs.  so here's what i got:

technakohl liner  eye-liner kajal in graphblack - no girl should live without this eyeliner.  i actually bought two.  one for me (backup just in case i lose the one i'm currently using) and one for my friend, leonie who looks absolutely gorgeous with darkly lined eyes.

eye kohl in fascinating - i find this way better than my makeup forever's aqua eyes in silver because just like the technakohl liner, it is very smooth to apply.

brow set in beguile - i have high expectations for this brow set.  i'm currently using a clear mascara from avon to set my brows but it doesn't do well in keeping my brow hair in place.  the SA told me that this could also double up as a brow liner since it has a tint.

fluidline eye-liner gel - i have put off buying gel liners because i have not found one which has the right "creaminess".  until i tried this.

lustre lipstick in utter fun - the color of this lipstick screams FUN.  i'll wear this for a night about town with my girl friends.

dazzleglass creme in do it up - a glittery pink gloss with a lipstick-like consistency.

dazzleglass in phiff! - i just had to have this because it reminded me of sparkling nude-shade gowns during the oscars.  it looks great on my lips too.

stella luna shoes are quite popular here.  this pair of flats is exclusive only to the philippines.  i love how they make my feet look narrow and long.  they also have this in pink and beige but i chose yellow because it is my favorite color.

we had dinner at thai me up, a newly-opened restaurant in my city which offers thai cuisine.  while waiting for our order, my daughter tried out my canon digital camera and came up with this photo.

i loved how my heavily-lined eyes nabbed off the rest of my features.  i used mac technakohl liner eye-liner kajal in graphblack.  this is so far my most favorite eyeliner as it goes on smooth; i don't have to tug my eyelids.  it has great staying-power too which is much needed by my oily eyelids.  i kept the rest of my makeup simple: revlon's double twist mascara for my eyelashes, kiehl's lip balm in hue no. 30g on my lips, and bare escentuals bareminerals blush in beauty for my cheeks.  my base makeup is all lauress mineral makeup (jumpstart primer in light, minimalist mineral foundation in subtle ivory, and fantastic finish in light).  lauress is good for those skintypes which get irritated by bismuth found in most mineral makeup*.

i'm liking this look a lot so i'm doing this again on wednesday.

*bare escentuals contains bismuth and makes my skin itchy especially when i start sweating.  but i still use it because it gives good coverage and it doesn't make my skin breakout.

i got bangs! courtesy of tony & jackey, a very popular korean salon in the philippines.  i like matching my new 'do with colorful eyeliners.  they make my eyes really bright.
